God is not needed for scientific research, claims Hawking

Hawking feels like God is unnecessary when it comes to the understanding of the whole world. Hawking has his own opinion on God which is shown in his book “The Grand Design” which was authored also be Leonard Mlodinow, Caltech physicist. He thinks that God is just something for humans that they need. Part of The Grand Design explains theories about science and religion that have always been discussed. Hawking claims God isn’t what created the whole world but gravity is. Science is not the way to check out God and the universe, suggest everyone opposed to Hawking.

Stephen Hawking or Sir Isaac Newton beliefs

The Guardian reports that Stephen Hawking’s new book, “The Grand Design,” is against Sir Isaac Newton beliefs. Newton believed the universe was designed by God. It seemed impossible to Newton the whole world could have formed spontaneously. Hawking says gravity made the spontaneous creation of the universe possible. Hawking wrote the book “A Brief History of Time” in 1988 that was a bestseller where, the Guardian explains, he took an opposite approach to God. When he wrote that book, God nevertheless was part of the Universe in his mind. He explained, “If we discover a complete theory, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason – for then we should know the mind of God.”

Hawking thinks that science will win

Hawking was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge in London, which technically makes him one of Newton’s successors. In 1992, a planet was found orbiting a distant star. This is when, says Hawking, the first doubt to Newton’s idea of the world being formed in chaos, came to him, he states in “The Grand Design”. During a June interview with ABC News, Hawking said humans created God in their image as a being with whom they can have a personal relationship. He also said it is extremely hard considering human life was a complete incident and does not have any significance. Science will win between science and religion, ABC News reports Hawking saying.

Hawking has some explaining to do

Hawking’s position that the world emerged naturally is dismissed as a “classic agnostic response” by William Crawley at the BBC, and individuals of faith have a right to disagree. Hawking is the only person who doesn’t need God to comprehend the galaxy. That is the position of Crawley. There is no real reason in “The Grand Design” to say there is not a religious explanation to the creation of the galaxy. Other scientists also disagree with Hawking. Fox News spoke to the president of the International Society for Science and Religion, Professor George Ellis, who explained that if the choice was only science or religion, religion would likely win. “A lot of people will say, OK, I choose religion then,” he said very clearly. “It is science that will lose out.”
